It was again a pleasure to lecture and give workshops for the 25th annual LBG Biomechanics Summer School (BSS) in Manchester this last weekend, on June 21 and 22. Since the 2019 BSS was my 9th time lecturing at this seminar, with my first BSS being in 2000, I do have a bit of perspective on the seminar and how important it is for the podiatry profession.
The 2019 BSS was probably the best I have ever lectured at with international stars such as Benno Nigg, Peter Brukner, Emma Cowley, Simon Bartold and Trevor Prior sharing the podium with me. The seminar was again sold-out, the audience was fantastic, and during our debates and panel discussions, we discussed, debated and answered questions about topics that are important to all practicing podiatrists. The questions during the workshops showed a high level of knowledge from the seminar registrants and the evening gala dinner and dance was a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
The staff at LBG are to be commended on their planning and organization of this year’s BSS seminar. To put it simply, every year, BSS brings to the British and European podiatry professions one of the best foot and ankle biomechanics seminars in the world, with excellent speakers, great organization and venue, and top-notch education in foot and lower extremity biomechanics, sports injuries, foot orthosis therapy and the latest athletic shoe technologies. If you have a keen interest in these subjects, this is one seminar that should not be missed.
